Help [Solved] People_Me_My Profile_Stuck Pic icon doesn't match profile picture icon and won't update

So when you first get the phone you have a single contact in People called My Contact Card. This is the key thing to remember. After you import your info it gets renamed Me. Neither of these two items are listed in People.

After you link this blank contact card to yourself via import, manual type in the info, link to social media or gmail import, this contact is now saved as "Me" although not listed in People. Creating an entry called Me in people did not work. But this did...

So I got my new phone and set it all up. Used Androdify (market app) to create some stupid little green robot avatars (or contact icons) and assigned one to myself. Dumbest thing I've done in awhile. I did this by creating a contact in People with my name (different from thought linked to My Profile) and linking the avatar to myself in people. Great. A few months went by and I decided I wanted a more professional look to My Profile so I attempted to change my contact icon by choosing a different picture-a real picture of myself. Great. Updated in "Edit Profile" view but not in the top listing of People under My Name followed by My Profile. Would not update. Tried everything including contacting HTC and deleting application data associated with the People App. Just would not update no matter what I did. Then I got lucky and figured it out.

Go edit "My Profile". It will probably be under your own name at this point. Rename "Your Name" to "My Contact Card". My is given name, Contact is middle name, Card is last name. Now arrange the view to show first name first (as opposed to last name first). Now go into the People listing of your contacts and find "My Contact Card" under M. Editing it you will find it now shows and allows editing the stuck picture that would not pull in before under your own name. Remove the picture from the contact. Rename the "My Contact Card" contact to "Your Name" again. Associate any picture that you want and it all works now like its supposed to again. Furthermore you can directly edit the contact picture and it updates the contact icon. How it gets stuck only God knows. But how it gets fixed we can all know thanks to this post.
