Help [SOLVED] [XPSP3 + Android 4.2.1] "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Hello

Until recently, my Samsung Galaxy Nexus worked fine with XPSP3, but now, its mass memory is no longer displayed in "My Computer" through MTP, and Device Manager says this about the Galaxy Nexus item:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I'm not sure, but it could have happened when Samsung sent an upgrade to Android 4.2.1.

I can still sync Outlook with MyPhoneExplorer, and I can access the phone's mass memory when the phone's connected to a Windows7 host.

If someone's had the same issue, what is it and is there a solution?

Thank you for any help.

For the benefit of other users having the same issue, this thread solved the problem:

"[SOLUTION] Samsung Mobile MTP Device -- CODE 10 error at Devicemanager"

I don't know if it helped, but before deleting this key in the Registry, I performed the following steps:
1. Through Device Manager, uninstalled Nexus, and hit Refresh: DevManager detected "Portable Devices > SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" with a yellow exclamation point.
2. Hit "Upgrade Driver" and let XP find it from Windows Update: "Cannot continue the hardware update wizard: The wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed." The icon no longer shows a yellow "!" but the device is still not listed in "My Computer".
3. Deleted the Registry key mentioned in that thread above, and lo and behold, "Galaxy Nexus" is now listed again in "My Computer".
