Some apps (e.g Facebook, Kik, Vine) won't stop restarting.

Hey there, i'm experiencing a particularly troublesome problem. Certain apps on my LG G3 (got it a few days ago) won't stop restarting after I go to settings and force stop.

I've tried downloading 3 or 4 "task managers" or "app killers", and although they kill the app, the apps automatically open up again. I've downloaded Autorun manager to try and stop them from opening automatically but no luck. Can anyone help me stop these apps so they won't restart?!?!

You *can* use an app like greenify to stop them from starting, but if a process is called by another app, they will start anyway. Android shares a lot of processes, especially within system apps so even though they might show as running, they really are only cached. Task managers and app killers are utilities best left uninstalled.

If you are experiencing performance issues, we can address that, but arbitrarily killing apps is probably not going to get you anywhere.

Why You Don't Need a Task Killer.

Those apps you mention are background services. They need to be running so they can notify you of new messages.
I don't want new messages from Facebook. if I wanna use Facebook I'll do it thru the browser. I consider facebook's continually opening abritrarily an infringement of my civil liberty. How can I stop it!!!

It could very well be that with your particular rom the facebook services are shared by other system services for necessary communications. If you try and disable it, you can break things you don't want broken. That said, if you aren't using the facebook app, then go to menu>settings>accounts and remove the facebook account, if there is one listed. If there isn't one listed then it isn't sync'ing with facebook at all.

Ah but you agreed to it though, when you entered your Facebook name and password, and checked the box that says you accept all of FB's terms & conditions.

...think of the South Park "HumancentiPad" episode.
