Help some beginner usage questions

1) Is there anyway to show the percentage of my battery life right on the battery itself on the top home screen?
2) Is there anyway to shut off the noise of the start up screen when the Android 4G appears?
3) Is there anyway to turn my phone back on aside from the top right power button? - Can I use the home button somehow?
4) Is there anyway to silent the phone with a swipe like on earlier android versions from the lock screen instead of having to unlock it and then using the profile widget?
5) Can I remove the vibrations from my keypad but keep them on for the three "hard" buttons on the bottom?
6) On the old Android system- the keypad automatically spaced after a word. On this device, after selecting a word as I type out a text- it does not space itself.
7) Is it recommend to add some kind of lens protector for the back camera like on the front screen?
THANKS!!

Hey just got mine today also.

You can turn off vibrations in keyboard .... settings/language & keyboard/HTC sense input. And change it.

The other things would require rooting and putting a new custom rom or launcher on.

No to lenses protector, it would screw up your pictures.

You need to be rooted to do this, but there is a battery icon mod you can flash that will do it.

2) Is there anyway to shut off the noise of the start up screen when the Android 4G appears?
I am not sure of the exact location, but you also need to be rooted to change that.

Not that I know of.

4) Is there anyway to silent the phone with a swipe like on earlier android versions from the lock screen instead of having to unlock it and then using the profile widget?
I think this could possibly be done with an alternative lockscreen app (like widgetlocker). I haven't ever tried to do it so I am not sure.

5) Can I remove the vibrations from my keypad but keep them on for the three "hard" buttons on the bottom?
This was answered already, I believe.

6) On the old Android system- the keypad automatically spaced after a word. On this device, after selecting a word as I type out a text- it does not space itself.
If someone does not suggest a way to do this with the stock keyboard, I know you can do it with an alternative keyboard (I use swiftkey x and can do this).

I have a slim TPU case for mine which makes it so the camera lens is not touching anything when you lay it on a flat surface.

Hope that helps.

okay. thanks a lot.

Will battery widgets actually drain the battery? I don't have many apps installed and it seems like I'm already using half of my RAM already.

I'm actually most annoyed about the start up screen making that noise.
Are there any other benefits with using another keyboard?

1) Is there anyway to show the percentage of my battery life right on the battery itself on the top home screen?

I use a free app called Battery Notifier (Big Text) which is available from the Android market at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.larryvgs.battery

This puts the battery percentage in the notification bar on the left in a large font. It also changes the colour of the percentage depending on the battery level.

I know that the OP wanted the percentage over the battery, but this is another possible solution that is easy to try out.

4) Is there anyway to silent the phone with a swipe like on earlier android versions from the lock screen instead of having to unlock it and then using the profile widget?

You can use the Volume control on the right hand side of the phone to change it to silent or vibrate even if the phone is locked.

Hi, guys, my phone recently downloaded an update- do I have to install it? It takes up liek 50 plus MB!!

also, when I am doing the voice to text feature, how can I spell out letters without them being spaced out?

If my power button is broken then there's no other way to turn the phone on?

Voice to text, as far as i know, u cant.

Turning on if button broken, if its just the plastic button on top u broke :
if u take off the top cover, as u would to get to the sim card. You will see the little button that the plastic button on the top pushes on, u can simply press that.
