Help Some minor issues with my GS3

Hi, figured I would take a shot with you folks to see if anyone has a solution. I have a GS3 on Rogers in Canada (same phone as AT&T version) and have a couple of minor issues.

Since the latest firmware update a few weeks back my S-Voice will no longer work when connected to bluetooth in the car. The S-Voice screen comes up but the mic button onscreen doesn't turn to blue like it normally does when listening. If I use the phone without bluetooth then S-Voice works as normal.

I also connnected it to a BlueAnt S3 hands free unit via bluetooth and it worked fine so seems to just be a new issue with my bluetooth in the car. (Subaru Impreza) It did work fine in the car before the update. (at least as fine as S-Voice normally works....) ;)

Also, I have a 4 digit passkey on my lock screen and have the phone set to enable auto-lock after 10 minutes. However, EVERY time I make or receive a phone call, the lock screen engages again immediately after the call even if the call was only 20 seconds long. Highly annoying in the car when I have to keep unlocking the screen.

Any ideas? Love the phone otherwise and appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

James

Your bluetooth is probably set to 'calls' mode - go into your settings->bluetooth. If your bt is turned on, you'll see all your paired devices listed with the config wheel on the right of each one - select the config wheel next to the one for your car and tick the box that says 'use for phone audio'.

If you want to control the lock state of your phone while you're in the car, then you can get a settings manager - a good one will let you turn off the lockscreen while connected over bluetooth to your car, it might do what you need nicely. I use 'Tasker' 'cos I use it with NFC tags, but there are several others.
