Help some problems im having

I absolutely love my nexus s. But I feel it has a few bugs. The first is the GPS. I have tried all the apps and clearing caches, etc. It takes a long time to lock on my position, and often drops the lock. Is there e a fix? Thanks.

Also, whenever someone sends me a picture it will resend the last I sent. Not sure what's going on there at all. Any help would be great thanks.

I'm Also rooted and running matr1x kernel for bln. I'm on android 2.3.4 as well. Could this be causing GPS trouble?

Well I got a new problem now. GPS fixed itself or something but whenever I try to wifi tether, I lose my data connection. Anyone know a fix for this? Or a rom that I can run that is basically a stock rom but with backlight notification and the working tether/ hotspot
