SO I'm still very new to all things root but have gained some experience through a few of you. (Dadcup has been very gracious and patient with me) I am currently trying to flash the cm10 and probably should've waited but I was to anxious and began the process anyway. I flashed the cm10 tester that jerryag posted on the thread with all the fixes. (BTW ty for that) I flashed the gapps and the deodex. So far I think everything went fine but I'm now trying to install the MMS fix and oh boy did I screw things up! One I don't know how to push the apk file and two I don't know what I did but now titanium backup says its "stopped" please help me fix this idk what to do please somebody... anybody...

Thanks but I thought I had posted the question on the thread. anyway everything seems to be OK except for A couple of minor bugs

I second spanky0323's post, always make a backup if you're certain the risk you might take is a little too costly, even for something simple.

I have had the luck to not have anything go sour, and have made no backup what so ever, outside of flashing the Stock Rom as shown on the Root Guide.

You might also want to ask jerryag if there is a fix for the MMS, as if you are not able to go back to stock, perhaps it will be easier to diagnose and fix the problem on the spot. I have not flashed to CM yet for reasons that worry me (4G, requiring additional apps to have basic functions, function, odd bugs, potentially unstable, et centra), but I believe as development continues, all the bugs will eventually be hammered out. That's another thing that's to be expected, is plenty of bugs, as it's just starting to grow out into the Avid.

Why not give it a shot? I did and its actually pretty stable for a ROM that only has 2 inexperienced devs, right now I'm running one of dadcups ROMs due to the fact that an app I've used since I got my android device won't work anymore (viber) and I do actually need that app because I'm in another country at the moment and my fiance is still on at&t refusing to switch -_- anyway if it wasnt for that fact I would still be running the CM 10 ROM it was really smooth and clean on the phone. If anything goes wrong you do have a nandroid back up so go for it!

Because I value my small pool of five hundred megabytes of data, I do not want to be installing more applications than I like.

It is not that I do not want to use Cyanogenmod, it is that the ROM, even at this state, I am not too 'good' to be used. I do not have funds to replace this device or utilize it as a guinea pig for testing, regardless of any backups I make. I think stock might be right for me as I hardly do anything on this phone other than make calls, text, listen to my radio and occasionally watch videos. I am all for improving the phone's energy uses and what not, and would like a ROM that gives it an almost bare naked experience, having almost no applications or bloat other than the bare necessities, but it is just something I am not willing to jump to at this time.

I have been told constantly to get CM 10, I am still unsure even to this date, to do it. By the time I do, I might no longer be using this mobile device.

I get it, I was nervous when I flashed it to my phone and got stuck in a boot loop but once I calmed down and actually focused on fixing the problem I realized my PC hadn't finished the download of the zip file and I completely missed the error message my PC showed and flashed a half ROM onto my phone lol. I would also like to have a ROM with only the necessities and maybe a theme changer type thing so I could choose the way my phone looks. Right now I'm running quite a few different apps to give my phone a JB/MIUI feel as I'm not running cm10 anymore due to viber calling issues. Anyway I am running a deodexed version of one of dadcups ROM's with a few changes. If you do decide to flash a different ROM such as slimm+ or one of dadcups many great 'improvements' of stock 4.0.4 let me know and I could help if need be.
