someone gave me a HTC android!

HI, I am from The Arkansas Ozarks. I have never been in a chat room so I don't know what to do. I have this phone that was given me by a friend and now I am trying to connect with people who know more then I do. I only started using a cell phone about a year ago. What does one do on a live chat room? I need a little help here. Oh by the way. Where I live I can only get dial up (I am way out in the sticks on a mountain top). So this phone I just received will open up a new and faster world for me if I can learn how to use it.

Hello wildmorningdov. Welcome to Android Forums. These forums aren't quite chat rooms though they are somewhat similar. Basically we have different areas here... one for each Android device. Typically, a user will click into the area for their device.
Other users of that device are there talking about their device. You will find different topics.. called threads. Each thread will have a main subject.. and other users will chime in with their two cents worth so each thread will have a number of responses.
Most of the threads will be of a help needed or how can I do this sort of subject.
So you will see something like "I need help selecting a ring tone" and a bunch of users suggesting how to accomplish that. That is just an example. You will want to check out the area for your gifted phone. You can read all the different threads.. especially ones that you also have concerns with. You can also start a thread yourself if you have a question and you don't see an answer already contributed. Below is a link to a list of all the Android phone areas. Just open the list and then find your phone and give it a click. You will then be in your phone's area and should be able to gain a lot of information about it. Have fun and if you have any problems.. Just come back here and ask for help. There are a number of Guides that keep an eye on this area and we love to assist.
