"Call It Stormy Monday" aka "Stormy Monday Blues" - T-Bone Walker

T-Bone was a great artist, and every guitar slinging blues singer owes a debt to Mr. Walker.

My favorite version is by Bobby "Blue" Bland and it must have been the Allman Brothers version too, because their version was very heavily influenced by Bobby's.

"Nights In White Satin" - Moody Blues

The Mellotron instrument was used for the strings and chorus vocals sounds on this record. It had a piano type keyboard and under each key was a strip of recording tape with the appropriate voice (the tapes came in banks). So there was a separate recording for each instrument (or chorus) and each note. It was an amazing instrument, but the tapes eventually broke causing a maintenance problem. We do things with digital recordings today, but they don't sound quite the same as the old Mellotron. I didn't mean better or worse, just different.
