Song Titles A-Z

The Goldberg Variations - Johann Sebastian Bach

I have a lot of classical, mostly from the "Romantic" period to contemporary, but then I have a lot of blues, rock, jazz and other forms as well from Tuvan Throat Singing to Afro-Portuguese to Gypsy to whatever. But then, I've always been a little weird ;)

Hallelujah Chorus - Handel

You gotta love diversity. I have a little bit of everything as well. I even have some old radio plays. It's not music but entertaining.

Well, I was racking my brains trying to think of a classical piece that starts with the letter I, and just when I was about to give up, it hit me....

Il Trovatore (The Troubadour) - Giuseppe Verdi

It's an entire opera, but I guess it will do ;)

Jesu, Joy To Man's Desiring - Bach (I got lucky and remembered a J classic... one that I was always quite fond of) (I even liked the remake by Apollo 100 a few decades back)

Got to admit this, I had to search a bit, but I knew someone who spoke German would be the way to find a classical K piece.

Kreutzer Sonata - Beethoven

Very tempted to go with Stan Kenton's "Opus In Pastels" but since we are doing classical, instead I'll go with:

"Overture To The Cunning Peasant" - Antonin Dvorak (one of my favorite composers)

Yep, O is a walk in the park, and this was the first to pop into my head.

But then I thought "Overture" is just to easy, so from another of my favorite composers:

"Ode To The End Of The War" - Sergei Prokofiev

Wrong game mikedt (been there, done that) so I'll continue:

Young And Foolish - Jazz Standard - my favorite version is by Mark Murphy

"Blueberry Hill" - first recorded by Gene Autry in the movie "The Singing Hills" (I rented that movie just to hear the Gene Autry version).
