Help Sony Smartwatch 2 problem/G-S3

Newbie
To enable use of my Sony Smartwatch 2 I downloaded "Smart Connect" and "SmartWatch 2 Apps.

Unfortunately at some point I force stop-ed SmartWatch 2 app., and now cannot re-start it. I have tried re-installing it, and even installing this app. on another Anrdoid tablet - but it always arrives in the "force stop" condition.

This makes my Sony SM 2 into a watch only, as my Galaxy S3 does not now recognise it.

Help anyone.

I have even installed "SmartWatch 2 SW2" on to a Nexus 7, model 1 - and it arrived already in the "force stop" state - somebody try and solve this for me please, or I have a useless Sony Smart Watch 2 for all time !

I have indeed tried uninstalling BOTH apps. from my S3 - i.e. Smart Connect and SmartWatch 2 SW2 - but still SmartWatch 2 SW2 always re-installs already in the "force stop" state. It seems that once stopped this software is not restartable again by any means - what a mess/bug ?

Because the SmartWatch 2 SW2 software is "stopped" the watch and my Galaxy S3 phone do not see each other, and the watch can function only as a watch - no gmail, no messages, nothing useful like it says on the box.

Hmmmm, not familiar with the Smart Watch to the GS3, but before uninstalling the apps, try to clear the cache and data from them, if applicable, then uninstall.
Then reinstall?

You cannot clear the "cache and data" from an app. in the force stop state as all clear options are grayed out and thus inactive. The only option that can be selected is Uninstall.

This is a bit of a pain, but back everything up and try a factory reset.

As you will read in the op I tried to install "SmartWatch 2 SW2" to a Nexus 7, model 1 and it installed in the force stop state - I then re-set this Nexus 7 to factory start state and again re-installed SW 2 SW 2 - and even then it still installed in the force stop state.

This software is simply unstartable after a force stop - but correct operation is vital to the Sony Smartwatch 2.

I can't afford to try to factory re-set the phone - with my well used and well filled Galaxy S3 phone as I'd loose so much and am unaware how to back-up all the content, settings, and personalisation first. Anyway the evidence of trying that trick with the Nexus 7 indicates it might not work.

We have a real puzzle here - or a major s/w bug ?

Have you tried a 3rd party task manager from the play store....something like Android Task Manager?

It may allow you to restart the app?

In the end I discovered how to fix things.

First I un-paired the watch from my Galaxy S3, and turned the phone off.

Then I re-set the watch to factory original state.

Then turned on the watch and phone and went thru the bluetooth pairing process from the beginning.

This resulted in the stopped program re-starting and the watch once again working properly.

Alas soon after this success the watch stopped working and had to be returned to the seller.
