Sony Xperia Play Variants

Hey there, today i'd like to order a new phone since i sold my old one. I want to buy an Xperia Play but there are so many variants, r800i, R800x ect. Which one is a GSM that can work with a sim card? 1. Trust google more than Ebay.
2. Check sony's website for technical specifications on each model.
3. Let me google that for you

Ok after some reading i saw that most of them said that it had a sim slot, but some said it works and some said it didnt... o.o

"The CDMA (R800x) version does have a sim-card slot, and if you go into some of the diag screens, you can turn on GSM... "

"The R800x still has the slot for the SIM card, but it does not make use of it, it is physically disconnected and does not function under the firmware."

With the second one, im guessing you need a bootloader or something?

The R800x I believe is a Verizon phone and it does not have a GSM radio, only CDMA. The rest of them should be GSM capable and take a SIM card. You can search GSM Arena to ensure what carrier you're going to use is the right radio bands for the model you buy.

Hey mate, the r800x does not support 3g
I have the r800i which does support 3g,as far as differences thats all im aware of

Thanks for the replies. The other GSM variants are a bit expensive, im just going to buy a mytouch 3G, thanks for the help though!
