Help sony xperia x10 - unlocking issues

zandy

Lurker
I have a Canadian x10 on rogers network, and had been able to unlock and use in USA on ATT successfully, after updating to ATT APN settings.

I recently replaced the phone, and am unable to do it again. This one has the updated operating system, the old one didn't. I dont know if that's I can't do it again.

The phone doesn't even prompt to enter the unlock code. Nor does it allow me to save any APN setting that I enter.

Does anyone know what's going on???? I could really use some help.

Thanks!

I guess you have not rooted your phone at all? What exact version of Android are you running? (go into Settings and About Phone) Copy all that stuff down and post it here.

Since it is a Rogers phone and you are going to use it with ATT in the States, I would suggest rooting the phone and setting up a something like Eminence...takes all the Rogers proprietary stuff off the phone...and speeds it up in the process.

Those APN settings, as far as I know, are pushed from the cell provider...so i donno if Rogers is gonna let you change that without it overriding those settings or hotfixing any changes you make in the future.
