Help sony xperia z ultra w/o google services

Hi, my father bought me my sony xperia z ultra model c6802, he bought it from some mall in iraq.. When i open it, it doest have any google services.. I cant dl apps, games, watch videos from youtube.. When i tried to bluetooth google services from my other android phone it says error and forced to stop.. Is there any posibilities for me to install google services on my z ultra? Thanks in advance

No Google services, I suspect it originally started life at some mall in China, and then worked its way to the mall in Iraq. Google is banned in China and so Androids here don't have it, is very likely where this Sony was originally intended for. Because of the trade embargoes and sanctions imposed on Iraq, I suspect a lot of tech products would come in via China.

To properly install Google services(GMS), the phone has to be rooted, etc. Exact details I don't know, I've never touched a Sony Xperia. There's our Xperia all things root forum.

XDA Devs is probably worth a look at as well.

We maintain the full collection of gapps (Google Apps) here -

http://androidforums.com/forums/gapps-packages.3064/

Many custom roms also come devoid of Google goods - once you're rooted (same thing as getting admin access on a pc) you install one of those packages to get what you need.

Root is required.

Posting this also in your root thread, deleting your non-root Sony thread (no one will know to answer your question there, no problem).

We may have tripped over each other a bit EM :o

Not terribly. :D

You removed his non-root thread, moved his root thread to non-root (before I could delete anything) and I moved that back to root.

Pretty dead over there, let's leave this one here.
Sry for double posting i dnt know where to post it.. So i need to root myz ultra 1st? Then dl google services?

Yes, you need to root first.

The full process will get you a special admin tool called a custom recovery.

You'll use that tool to install the gapps package.

Or - we may be able to find you the Sony setup for your region that did include the whole Google setup (services, the whole bit) and get you square that way.

In fact, maybe that's a better way, not sure.

I think that you want a Sony rooting expert to help - and I know some, so I'll talk to them and send them to this thread to help you, step by step.

Trust me, that's always the right way, for me too - get someone expert to help you step by step. NEVER search the Internet and take the plunge alone.

So, we're going to help you with that.

Plus so the information is ready - are you international or USA with a special cell carrier requirement?

Download and install the most recent version of FlashTool on your computer, then go to this XDA thread, read the included tutorial, then choose a C6802 ROM from the list and install using FlashTool.

It's a very straight-forward procedure, but remember to back the phone's contents up with PC Companion before flashing.

I'm sorry, but there's not a lot more anyone can do. If you're not confident in your own ability to follow the guide then it's best that you don't try.
