Help "Sorry, APK Exception, will exit"

I recently updated to Lollipop on HTC One M8 (Not rooted), Now when I get any notification icon from any app, gmail, Whatsapp, Messgage etc. I get the following message at bottom of screen "Sorry, APK exception, will exit".

It doesn't alter any function of the phone - just very very annoying.

Anyone else getting this? Any solution?
 
Sounds like the supporting app/apk for the Chinese smart-watch is not compatible with Lollipop, and needs updating. Where did you buy it from..but it's probably.....good luck with any updates or support
 
EBay! :( it's an awesome besides not connecting -__- how the he'll does that get fixed? Is it an Android or the app maker problem?
 
It's almost certainly the app developer's problem. There were some major changes made in Lollipop 5.0 over prior versions, and it's most likely ART rather than Dalvik which is causing the app to break. Many devices are now getting Lollipop, and it's really up to the developers to update their apps if needed. As it's a Chinese smart-watch from Ebay, rather than say a Samsung, Sony or LG smart-watch, the manufacturer is mostly likely unknown, any updates may not happen. What smart-watch have you got, model number, etc. because there might be some info available for it, never know. Could try contacting the Ebay vendor, see if they know anything about it.

There is an actual standard now for smart-watches, Android Ware, which is fully supported by Google and certain manufacturers, so no need to install proprietary device specific apps. Just needs Android Kitkat 4.4 or greater.

Incompatible App to Android 5.0 or Some 4.4.x may be the main issue. I had the same issue with smart watch from china (Sorry,APK exception, will be exit - Prompt) . However, to solve problem that get Chinese Smart Watch works with notification alert feature is try to install app from Galapad named "SmartWear" which works perfectly on my new 5.0 Lollipop device. All functions are compatible with U8 Smartwatch or RWatch.

Thanks soooooo much! I purchased my son a smartwatch and I couldn't get it to fully work with the Chinese application, I kept getting the "APK EXCEPTION" error. I downloaded the "SMARTWEAR" app and it now works perfectly!!! Thanks sooooo much again!!
 
Thanks so much ! But there is one thing really problem to me that I can't sync the contact from my phone to Phonebook of my Chinese smartwatch U8 :(
