hi guys, im new here. i've searched the forums and haven't found any answers.

why am i always getting this message when playing music on my alcatel glory x 918n (android 2.3).. after reboot it'll go away but after sometime it'll return. i've search google and i did not find any solution on this problem... guys i really need help, this is getting very annoying...

I use mixzing and have had this happen before. I switched the players memory over to internal memory and then back over and restarted the device and it seemed to fix it. So basically unmounted SD card and remounted. Don't know if it helps.

"Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file"

help me plz!!!
whenever i play music it is always says
"Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".. i install different music player but its always like that... all my music is mp3.. by the way my phone is samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830.. it is upgraded it is 4.1.2

Music playback issues can often be caused by a duff or fake SD card, especially if you've tried various media players. Worth trying a different known good SD to make sure. Typical symptoms of a bad or phoney SD are, you'll see a list of songs, but they just won't play or give "file type not supported", etc.

I've been having the same troubles. Look at your audio file details- sometimes my downloads screw up, and instead of downloading the whole file, it downloads 2.88kb of it. This returns an error because the content that was asked for was not found. Not sure why it blames it on file format, though. Also, this only seems to affect certain downloads. Let me know if there's any solution, or if your files are the same way.

EDIT: sorry, didn't realise I bumped a year old thread.

Hey ! I found the solution ! I had the same problem as you all and i tried all the methods mentionet above, and nothing. I recently buy a new phone and i put in the microsd card, where i have my music, and some of them worked fine, some of them doesn't, because this error appeared. Then i tried to copy from my computer my first 10 songs that had this issue, and surprise ! IT WORKED ! So, all of you that didn't solve this, try replace all the music you have, or delete and copy the same songs and it will play very well !

READ BELOW!
Ok, so after a while of using Neutron, that stopped working too.

So here's an example...
ZZ Top Sharp Dressed Man
The file is an MPEG-1 Layer 3 (standard MP3) 9.85mb in size (320kbps I like high quality)
Everything shows up just fine in iTunes, the song plays, Windows Media Player plays it, it's all good.
However, on my phone, none of the info is there, but the file shows as being 9.85mb in size.
Somehow between copying from my computer to my phone, either the external card, or internal memory, all the info for the song is lost. WTF?????

This is ridiculous. There has to be a solution for this (besides retagging 500+ songs).

HOLY HELL!!! After all that I just figured it out!!!

Look at your tracks, the ones that don't work have numbers infront of them, eg "03 Sharp Dressed Man". The 03 denotes a track number from the album. Get rid of the track number (in iTunes or whatever you're using) and copy the file again!! VOILA!!!

Also, the quick way to figure out which ones are "dead" is to open a folder in Windows, right click on the bar at the top of the window (Name, Artist, etc) and add Duration. The ones with 00.00.000 are dead. Delete them off your device.

Well, so far anyway. So now, there has to be an easy way to get rid of all the track numbers. Keep you posted!!!!

Ok, so one more update!
Here's how I worked around it.
I have playlists in iTunes for the music that goes on my phone. I have over 100gb of music, and don't want all of it on my phone, usually around 1500 songs is more than enough for me...
So, like I said, I create a playlist, put the files in there that I want, then, I highlight all the songs (ctrl A) right click, and go to Get Info. I tagged the ALL with the number 22 in track number. After it's done changing them all, I repeat the process, only this time, I blank out the track number. That's it, 1500 songs FIXED!!! (gives myself a huge high five!)

Help, please! I am not good at this (and that's being kind). I don't have Music FX on my phone, that I can find. Also, if I, "clear data," under my music player, I get the message I will lose all my pw, files, data, etc. That's not good. I have another question, which, "music player," am I to clear data on, the one I installed (Music Download) to my phone or the one that came on my phone (Google Play Music)? I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. I'm totally lost.

I had the same problem and have a solution. May not be the best but you can play the tracks. Requirements: using u torrent to download. If you change the storage location on the u torrent app for the file you downloaded - do this by clicking on file in utorrent app and then clicking on details. Change/save storage location to "app storage". Will get prompt saying 'if app uninstalled then files deleted' - Ignore (just don't delete app). Then click back over to files and play through u torrent by clicking play arrow. Saves having to change bit rate or download other player. Hope this helps I did for me
