Help SOS Message

Cocoa Faith

Lurker
I have a Samsung on5. My carrieris Metro PCS. Recently my phone has been sending out random SOS Message to my Emergency Contacts in my Contact List. It takes 2 pictures of me unknowingly, and records me for a few seconds unknowingly. It sends a map of my exact location. It sends out a text saying "I need HELP!" My mom has been responding, but I end up having to send out a group text explaining that I'm okay. I really think it's a good thing but it's doing this when it wants to, NOT when I need it. How do I fix this or at least find a control switch PLEASE?!

Hi.

Firstly, I would be very, very concerned. I am 99% sure that this is some sort of malware, and its abilities and actions make it very dangerous. I'd find a way to cover your cameras immediately, this is not a normal Android feature. Your images could be sent to someone you don't know, and you could be getting spied on.

Thank you for your response and advice. I will definitely take care of this.

In settings you can find line "emergaency rescue" - turn off all this functions

it is possible that you have picked up some malware
if you do not set up their own SOS function - it should not function

you have somehow loaded an app that is doing this to your phone.
I would immediately:
1. FDR the phone and start from scratch
2. if that don't fix it, get a new phone.
