Help Sound and SD card?

Aren't the standard ringtones embedded on the phone? I've resurrected the phone as wifi only with no SIM just to use Skype. It does work in that mode,
but it won't ring on a Skype call! Finally checked settings and sound was greyed out. I had switched the SD card to the 4G, so the 3 didn't have a card.
Put a blank SD card in, and the built-in ringtones appeared. The other phones I had (non smartphone) used a card, but the built in ringtones didn't need it.

I also have Skype on the 4G, and that went crazy when a call came in.
It rang, yes, but it also flashed on and off like crazy. I haven't seen a setting on either the 3 or 4G to make the phone flash as a notification.

The phone went to England. Daughter was here, borrowed it while I had her BeholdII unlocked, and asked to switch. Since the 3 was unlocked, no problem. It was a nice phone, but the Behold will do in an emergency. (I keep backup phones in case one dies at an odd time)
