Help sound enhancement

I love my Nexus 4, more than any other phone I've ever had, but I think the volume and sound quality are quite poor.
Does anyone know of an app I can download to enhance the sound quality??

I assume you've tried playing with the Equaliser?

In Play Music, go to the menu at very the top left, hit Settings and Equaliser.

I agree about the volume levels - stupid legal restrictions often make it too quiet especially using headphones.

I'm not sure if the "sound quality" bit of your post refers to the speaker; I find the audio quality of the Nexus 4 surprisingly good using headphones.

PS: "good sound quality phone speaker" is an oxymoron anyway.

Sounds good with a headphone amplifier, but it's not convenient having another device to carry

Franco's kernel allows you to adjust headset gain and volume boost. Add that to the equalizer effects in Poweramp and I've got a pretty good sounding phone.
