Help sound problems

ok for some reason the sound keeps moving from using the rear speaker (loud) to the earpiece (queit) I am refereing to everything, ringtones, music, notifications etc. I need to reeboot my phone to get the sound back to using the rear speaker, any ideas whats causing this? I am js5 firmware

Okay that is just plain weird. Factory reset?

well atcually was on an earlier version of 2.2.1 and it did it on this as well, which is actually why I updated it to the later version but it still does it.
