Sound Quality

I know some people have stated that they may keep their Triumph as an mp3 player. After finally using QPST to boost the volume levels, I have found that the Evo is substantially better than the Triumph. As far as sound quality this phone is the equal of my Sansa,Creative and Cowen portables. I know that it has a Wolffson DAC onboard but the amplifier stage is stunning. Very easy to forget that I'm listening to a phone. Unfortunately yet another fail for the Triumph.

I thought the QPST fix worked too, until I set all the levels to their lowest values, and it sounded the same as when they were maxed out. OPST DID work, and the values DID change. After each boot I verified that the correct values were written to the phone. They just didn't make any difference, at least as far as the rear speaker is concerned.

Other threads on the original Evo 3D have ended in a placebo-effect / mixed-results standoff. I'm standing on the placebo-effect side.
