Sound when powering off

Another weird issue with the LG Spectrum. I have my phone set to "silent" then power it down. Just as it is almost completely powered down, it still makes a rather loud sound/vibration. Is there a way to turn this function off? I have small children and occasionally this has woken them up!

Are you on stock? I believe you may be talking about the shutdown animation sound. I'll have to look for the file name if you're on stock.

You'd need to be root to remove this, but removing it will not harm your system. Or you can just be root and rename it.

You may also need to remove /system/media/audio/ui/PowerOff.ogg

Couldn't you just remove the audio file and keep the animation?

Possibly. I never played around with it much, but those are definitely the two files you'd want to be removing/renaming.

Not that I'm aware of. A long shot would be to try placing a blank audio file at /sdcard/media/audio/ui/PowerOff.ogg and see if it over-rides the system one, but I'm not really sure if that would even work.

Every time I turn off my phone, the shutdown animation "Verizon 4g LTE" is on the screen for like 10-15 seconds before shutting down. Is this normal. Sorry for dumb question.
