Root Spam after CTMod 3.68

I'm sure there is something in here about this somewhere but having trouble finding it so here it goes. I successfully rooted and CTModed to 3.68 (thanks Blood and others) but now I keep getting spam in my notification area as well as on my home screen. Any way to keep that from happening? I usually only turn background data on when I need it if that helps but otherwise they just just pop up at random.

CTMod is bare bones and should not have any spam.

you might have installed some apps that run ads

what kind of spam? and i use air blocker or airpush detector. and even then i only have gotten 1 that was pushing some spam. have you downloaded apps from other sites, and the internet stuff could have something to do with it too,and maybe even have gotton a trojan or virus or something.

Sorry, turned out it was a live wallpaper I got through the play store of an HD shark wallpaper so guess I will keep a good eye out for that in the future.
