Spam Filtering software needed

Hi,

Have recently bought an android phone and am looking for a good app to block spam message. I get close to 20 everyday. And often an rather odd hours.

Have tried a lot of apps with no/little success.

Am basically looking to filter out spam based on 2 simple criterion.

1. I have a list of keywords. If any message has that word/symbol (case insensitive) the message should get blocked. Eg. bhk, %, free

2. However, a message from a person in my contacts should not get blocked. Irrespective of the message containing any of the 'keywords'.

That's all. Can't seem to find an app that would do this robustly.

Any help?

Are you using gmail? If so you can filter out things right in gmail.

Hey,

I should have been more clear. I am not referring to spam emails. I am talking about spam SMS's here.

have tried software such as AntiSPAMSMS, Blacklist, Handcent. Nothing seems to help.

Ask in a Tasker thread. It can be done, but it will be complicated. I don't know how to do the part about reading messages for key words, but I've seen at least one description of a profile that could do that. It might use an external script - I don't know. Anyway, there are threads here and at xda where you can get Tasker help.
 
I searched Google for "spam SMS android" and found links to some apps. I can't recommend them from personal use though. Check the reviews and comments, see if there is an app designed for this.

Tasker is probably overly complicated for what you need.
