yeah it will do. this product Nokia CA-101 Micro USB Data Cable: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo will also do it at a fraction of the price (is what i'm using)

i bought a nice long 1.8m cable from kenable for

I use a nokia CA-146 Charger Adapter which enables me to use anyone of my 8 nokia
chargers (aquired of the years)

Can be bought for

I bought the HTC HD2 Data cable from Amazon which works fine for charging the Desire and is only 2.95 delivered (in fact just bought another one for the gym as well, because they have USB ports on the equipment and it charges my Desire)
