Help Spare OEM battery giving charging errors

Drunkenup

Lurker
So I've owned the 3VO for roughly 2 weeks now and two problems have shown. One is a random while idle shut off that cannot be turned on without pulling the battery. I'm told this is a common issue, but I've since uninstalled some potential problematic apps and its seen to have gone away. The second problem is that I've just bought a second battery as a backup, the issue is that the phone will not turn on with that second battery. First works absolutely fine, but when I plug in the second to the charger, I get a series of red lights that eventually disappear. I googled that maybe the charge for that battery is completely expended and I'd have to get Sprint or bestbuy or someone to help. it is a genuine oem HTC branded battery

The first problem is not common. But it sounds like you solved it by removing the bad apps.

The second problem is likely just a bad cell. Return it and get a replacement.

I've noticed my battery life has been in the toilet lately, and getting worse. If you need another battery, just swing by a Sprint store and ask for one, they are free.

Maybe it is because it is used to your original OEM battery. The statistics built up in the log file are used to that particular battery and not the spare one.

I agree with jerofld though. Definitely get a replacement if it giving you that much trouble.
