Spare S3 batteries

Anybody have an idea where you can buy extra batteries for the S3? Like... real ones and not knock off pieces of junk?

Uh no. Every listing I look at on there people report of the batteries being cheap knockoffs.

You have to be careful. They have gotten to the point where they can make the fake ones look like an OEM battery.

I would read all of the buyer reviews.

I went with the Zerolemon 7000mAh extended battery and love it. NFC will work with their extended battery too. The only drawback is NFC will not work with their stock sized batteries.

As the other members have mentioned, I've read good reviews of the Anker batteries.

I'd suggest buying anker brand batteries. Many of the OEM ones on eBay/amazon are fake, and anker is a really great company for support if something goes wrong.

Yep. I have a couple of Anker 2200mAh batteries for spares and they work as well if not better than the battery that came with the phone.

I have a OneIte battery for my Samsung Transform Ultra that works better than the original. It's over 2 years old and still going as an mp3 player/toy for my kids. I think if you're going to go cheap go with one of the brands on Amazon like Anker, OneIte, etc. that a lot of people use or go all the way and get the Zerolemon. If you buy an OEM on Amazon or Ebay you very well may get lucky or you may have a problem.

I'd be real leary about buying anything "OEM" from Amazon or Ebay. I just recently bought a new shipped and sold by Amazon Otterbox Defender that was clearly counterfeit. Unlike the one from Best Buy the screen protector didn't make contact with the screen at all (I had to push not touch it and forget swiping), the plastic was half as thick, and the silicon felt different.

Uh yeah. I have bought several batteries from Amazon and they are fine. You do need to be careful. Zerolemon batteries are fine. The ZL 7000 is especially good and you will not be sorry. It also has NFC if you are interested in that.

I was unable to find a genuine spare battery. I went to the Samsung store and asked for one. They didn't have any and told me to go to their website. I went to the Samsung.com website, but could not find the battery. I went back to another Samsung store and told them I could not find it on their website. They then told me to go to a Samsung Parts Canada web site. Since you are in the US, there may be a US version for you. I still could not find one there. They had a toll-free number on the Samsung Parts Canada website, so I called them. They told me they didn't have any in my region (west coast).

I gave up and just ordered a no name extended battery and I'm happy.

Something like Newegg would be a good place to find legitimate OEM batteries. Newegg and Amazon are good places to find extended batteries. So what brand of extended battery did you end up going with? Yesterday I received my Anker 4400mah extended battery with NFC. I've gone from 100% to 74% in 12 hours. My original one year old battery couldn't even go 12 hours most says lol.
