Help Speaker too low?

My N7 speaker is way to low when watching video and even playing music at max volume. Seems like a pretty big speaker my Droid RAZR HD speaker is twice as loud! Anyone know of a fix tried volume + but it doesn't work on JB.
 
This is a bit of a mysterious issue to me. I haven't found any of the speaker boost programs that work for my N7. Yet, the Mx video player has a speaker boost mode and that function REALLY works. I can get at least twice the normal max volume with Mx player.. enough to nearly melt the speaker right out of the case :)

That being said, I can't figure out why there don't seem to be any stand-alone speaker boost programs that work. Mx Player clearly demonstrates it can be done. I'm rooted, by the way, and on the latest stock JB and kernel... 4.2.1.

I too have MXPlayer installed on my N7 but have disabled the 200 % audio boost setting, to avoid damaging the speakers( there have been a number of reported cases of the speakers having blown).
My thought process was that if the designer has chosen to limit the max speaker volume in the N7,there has to be a reason behind it, very probably the safe vol limit the speaker units were designed for.
So,I use head/in-ear phones if I want more volume or full frequency reproduction, which the built in speakers just will not be able to provide, whatever the volume boost applied.
Am I wrong/ missing something in my thought process here?
 
I actually find the volume through earphones to be pretty piss poor. Would love some suggestions for improving it.
 
If I actually want to be able to hear, I hook up an old set of powered PC speakers. The volume seems pretty low all the time on mine. My phone with two little 1/4" slots on either side is much louder.
 
Mine's 2X louder than my Optimus phone when I plug it into my car speakers (sounds amazing!). Poweramp preamp also helps when just using ear buds. I tried Noozxoide and didn't really notice any difference in loudness.

I'm not sure what's going on. On mine the alerts and some games are quite loud, music is a decent level. The only problem I have is with video, including YouTube. Maybe someone put a 1 in the code where it was supposed to be 10? LOL

Plz check the impedance of your earphones; if you're not able to play them to a satisfactory volume level, most likely it would be high.
For a low powered device like the N7, the ideal would be 16 ohms, but phones upto 32 ohms should also work out well- my Grados @ 32ohms play at satisfactory vol levels
I get more than sufficient vol levels with my Creative EP 630's ( 16 ohms); and the playback quality is quite nice, detailed & balanced.
