speaker volume

im using this samsung galaxy note 10.1, with the skype app to talk to somebody abroad. the first tym it was nice and clear and loud. but suddenly the volume become very weak. and i cant even hear it ringing. ive already checked the volume settings and its ok. ive tried to play songs and its working properly. why is the volume so low when im using this skype app. what am i doing wrong?? pls help

There are 3 icons. The center one probably looks like a phone - a little rectangle with sound waves coming out of it. That's the setting for the little earpiece on the phone. (I don't know if you have one on your tablet - you must have.) Press that icon and it'll change to a speaker and the sound will come from ... the speaker. And be nice and loud.
