Speakers

I'm actually happy with the speakers. The quality is subpar to most other phones but the volume is way better than the phone I just replaced, the One X. So its either not really that bad and you guys are used to really LOUD phones, or my One X really was that crappy. I have yet to miss notifications or have issues hearing any media with my N5.

The speaker and the dialer/phonebook and camera are three things i really don't like about the phone.

When in my purse pocket I put my phone in with speaker down, so that causes the speaker to be covered and therefore the sound muted. its the same in the car, i put it in the cup holder with the bottom down. Even if I am playing music it is muted and the sounds aren't as loud as what I have come to expect from my one s. But it is good that Google knows and they are fixing it.

No problem. :) I saw it on Android Central. Phil Nickinson said he got the information direct from Google.

Do you really thing that a software tweak will fix a sub par speaker or is it as matter of trying to get gold out of iron and the closest you get is rust?

A software fix can help, though you would run a risk of blowing it out all together.

No one thinks that they could possibly be good speakers in all actuality, just handled by the software in a crappy way? No? Oh okay. :(

The speaker in my DHD was a bit quiet and got boosted with a FW update so I'm holding out hope. I'm sure the same happened with my S3 too. It's not uncommon AFAIK.
