I don't know what apps Samsung have, I get mine mostly from the Play Store but Samsung Kies is pretty popular for alot of users. I haven't tried it myself either.
Experience Kies!
Use Samsung’s desktop software
to transfer music, contacts, and
photos, update software, and sync
wirelessly from your phone or tablet.
I have several apps from the "Samsung Apps" App Store (which comes on the tablet) some of which weren't on the Play Store and all of these were Free. These include "Slot Machines" by Taftwoo (no in-app purchases), AutoCad WS, and "eBook de READER" from Germany. The reader can store books on the external SD card and is compatible with books which download to Adobe Digital Editions. There is no Android version of Digital Editions.
