Spectrum Update

I do not disagree that you are following the instructions, but here is what your own logs are showing:

* failed to start daemon *

That message right there has nothing to do with the phone and everything to do with ADB. If it was the phone, then the daemon would start and would say waiting for phone. If possible, try running "adb shell" on it's own and seeing if you can connect to your phone. If not, then it is definitely ADB. If it does connect, then there is another issue that has not been address yet.

Thats sounds like a good idea! Will give it a try and see what happens. Thanks. :)

too resolve any doubts for anyone I can absolutely verify that the all in one works, here's my story since last night.

I was on eclipse rom and last night decided to try the update out so I returned to stock using nephs CWM return to stock method.

Then installed the update and then I rooted and flashed recovery using mt's all in one package.

Then this morning I decided I didn't need the stupid update and returned back to v4 stock using nephs CWM method for returning to stock again

Then I rooted and flashed recovery using mt's method again

Then flashed back to eclipse.

Then used mt's all in one package for root and recovery once more.

Never had one problem the whole way.

I just wanted to share my experience so everyone knows that you can still use mt's all in one package no matter.

Anybody else get the "Verification error" when opening email? Both of my accounts are giving me this error, and re-entering my password does nothing. What am I missing here?

ok first time I've needed help in a long time but I'm stumped. I decided to go back to stock and get the update again but this time it's not working right.

i flashed the v4 return to stock file in CWM and thats what I'm on now (wow v4 stock is awful) and I tried to get the update and it says I already have. Tells me that I'm on vs920v6 but my firmware is 2.3.5

But I don't have the update and I don't understand why it's doing that.

I would download nephs nandroid but it's 700+ MB and I'm already at 9.3 GB of my limited 10. And my phone is my only source for internet.

I'm using the verizon update assistant now and it's downloading the update so I will see if it works but I would still like to know whats going on here for future reference.

[update] Nevermind the verizon update thing was downloading 700+ MB as well.

Guess I'm just going to flash back to broken out or eclipse.

First time Droider here. This is my first update, non-rooted phone. What am I going to see that is different? TIA

this was already posted. It will show you what all the chages are in the update. nothign too major mostly system apps it look like. How ever it looks like they may fixed the email issues i was having with the stock app. Im just to lazy to flash back to v4 and update to find out.

Nothing really. Just some apps were updated. Mainly performance was increased. I use a CPU monitor and I noticed both cores were being used equally. I know one guy reported getting around 6500 in antutu benchmark when before you were lucky to get over 5000. (though us who are on custom roms get over 7000) but mainly you should notice a performance increase

Actually Hollywood those list never tell the full story. They are more like a check list for noobs. But generally you get more to an update than they tell you.

yea, but its somewhere for him/her to start. Are you still on v6 or have you flashed bacl to BO or Elcipse?

I couldn't get v6 to work. So I'm back on eclipse. I'm just going to wait for a ROM based off it. I was just bored last night so figured I would try v6 again.

So, based on your experience, it seems the upgrade is not a big deal. Is your recommendation to just leave it as is? I am on Broken Out, based on V5, and it is running well. I would hate to take the upgrade for minimal or no performance gains...

you aren't going to get a faster phone with v6. And since you are on broken out it will actually be slower. I tried the update out the day it was released but ended up flashing back to eclipse pretty soon afterwards because it just wasn't an update that you could see. I could feel the difference over the v4 stock though. They definitely made some improvements. But for now just stick with broken out and wait for mt to release an updated version based off v6.

If you are bored then try out eclipse. It's pretty nice even though nitro isn't done with it yet.

Ok, thanks for the advise...for now then, I am sticking to Broken Out because if it ain't Broken...why fix it? :D (bad attemp at joke, pun, been funny....)
