what is the mechanism of speech recognition. how a spoken word is taken from speech and recognized among the thousand of words in the data base,,, Sir/Madam i need this for my final year project.

You want the data that's an amalgamation of 4 decades of work in a forum post? A doctoral dissertation is usually shorter than what you're asking for.
Or do you want the short version? The speech is analyzed by certain algorithms, and they decide what word was spoken and what to do about it. (For instance, in Dragon, saying "paragraph" doesn't type the word paragraph [unless you tell it that it's a word, not a command], it starts a new paragraph.)
