Root speech to text not working

I have a rooted phone with the fission super clean rom installed(which I absolutely love).

I've noticed many awesome things about vanilla Android however one odd thing on my phone I noted is that the microphone button on the soft keyboard is now gone. I also installed "taskos" app for the voice recognizing task pad and it says "voice not supported on this device".

any ideas?

I know that this rom is one of the cleanest roms and has been described as "pure vanilla android" so I suppose voice to text is an app I have to install or something? I mean, I had to install Gmail after the flash and it's a google operating system! lol.

Help,

I am also rooted and I am getting the same message, voice not supported on device. I downloaded Voice Search by google but yet get the same message. What else could be the problem.

We need more details. What ROM are you using? Did voice work before and just quit working, or has it never worked? Have you made any changes recently that could have messed it up? Have you tried restarting the phone (since you installed voice search?)

This was the problem. As soon as I posted here I restarted the phone and it worked perfectly.

Thank you

Glad it works. When in doubt, I always give the phone a quick reboot, just like with computers, it clears up many of those things that shouldn't happen, but do anyway haha. (Protip: If you press shift + alt + del on your keyboard, your phone will reboot... I do this every night right after I put my phone on the charger. I find a reboot a day keeps the weird acting apps away)
