Speech to text time outs

Over the past day or two, I've been having a lot of problems using the Speech to Text feature of the keyboard. I always use my voice to compose SMS messages and it has been fine up until now.

Seems like 60% of the time I say something, the system thinks for a few moments, and then responds with a "Server Timed out" error or "Connection Problem"

Has anyone else been experiencing this? Any ideas?

Same here! I gave up using it yesterday because I got sick of waiting for it to do nothing.

I've been working on a hot date and it's really annoying having to type my responses back on the keyboard. Want my speech to text back!

Are you in Colorado by chance? Maybe this is a local issue?

Nope, I'm in NY. It usually works pretty well for me but not recently. I've also been switching to 1x waaaay more than normal too, even more than the "new normal" after 2.1!! I really hope 2.2 fixes that!!!

Seems like a lot of Google Services were sort of wonky this week. Maybe it was their I/O meeting and everything will clear up next week.
