I noticed some people complaining of slow LTE speeds, and some saying that their speeds are faster. Curious to see locations, and speeds across the ZMAX PRO user base.

Downtown Portland Oregon on T-Mobile. Indoors so reception isn't the best. First one is with BT on, other two are with BT off.

Some of these speeds seem extremely slow for 4G, is it slow loading web pages? I'm about 40 miles west of Detroit and consistently get between 80-100 Mbps.

I'm on the left coast.. and like you, I was getting your speeds..
Until I turned off "Data Maximizer" in the MyMetro App under "Data Usage".. That at least took me up to the 10-12mps range.. give it a shot! and lets us know if it helped.. :-)

Already did that also tried a different apn , basically i try every possible solution without having any real success. Before t-mobile was 15 to 20mbps

There is definitely a network prioritization problem during the day. My speeds are incredible at night. I'm in NYC.

There is a maximum amount of bandwidth that the carrier cell-sites can handle.
As the system works on a "Spread Spectrum frequency hopping scheme" to keep different conversations separated, the more conversations that are "active" just means less space for others to use it at maximum speed.

voice conversations are a very low Data Rate and even with loss of syllables in our speech, the human brain can fill in the gaps. this allows the system to really load up during the daytime and handle 100s of conversations per cell-site.

but, if you try to use data during the daytime, you will find it is very slow compared to 3:00 AM when most folks are in bed.

That's not necessarily always true. I understand your analogy, but in terms of network prioritization, every network works differently than one another. I ran another speed test now at 10:00 am (rush hour, high network usage) and I have just about no slow down. My point being is that the Metro PCS version of prioritization doesn't always go after the users with higher data usage. I've used way over 25Gb this month already, and I still have excellent speeds.

Just for fun here's one more from me but with LTE off, since some people were saying that in their congested areas they were getting better 4G traffic than LTE traffic.

New York here. My speed at 9-10AM was about the same.

ah well, I just reported what happens out here in the grass lands of no technology....

in the daytime, it all slows down.......................... way down..................
but, the fact is, there is "xyz" bandwidth available, and IF there are too many folks trying to use data , everyone is going to experience slower speeds.

spent too many years looking at Spectrum Analyzers on microwave circuits... you just can't ignore the law of Physics.

The same exact thing happens on your home WiFi networks. Same exact technology.

My ISP provides me with 10.5 mbps guaranteed, with 13.4 mbps when the community is asleep.

Turn on NETFLIX to watch a TV show, and the best that I can get on my laptop is about 4.5 mbps

If we try to watch two TV shows on Netflix at the same time, we experience glitches and "buffering" starts to occur.

No slow downs for me.

hello from tulsa

Damn I have been getting around .02-.4 mbps. Just got two of these about 3 days ago. Only the 50 dollar 8gb LTE plan with 30 bucks for the second phone. Both are snail trail slow. Same issue as many with no alternate APN setting being saved. CS guy was tied to his paper sheet of common fixes, zero help. About to go back to the store at this point.
