Help Spell checker on Android 2.2.1

I cannot figure this out for the life of me so I don't know if it's a bug or just something I'm missing. But when I'm typing using the on screen keyboard, the suggested word that is usually bolded in orange does not come up. So basically, the spell check is turned off and I am not able to get it back on. It is really bothering me. For example, if I typed, "timr" it would give automatically show "time" in bold orange letters and if I hit the space bar it would put it as "time". I am using the Android keyboard. Where am I missing this?

if you are using the swype keyboard it donesent come up

all others do as far as I know, maybe it can be turned off but if so it is in the settings menu where you pick the keyboards you can use

I've been through all the settings, it's no where. I can't be the only one having this problem....

Seriously? No one can take two seconds to see if the Android keyboard is also doing this to them on 2.2.1 EC05?

I can confirm, SooprmanX, the exact same problem on My Epic. I updated to 2.2.1 on Friday, 3/25 and also had my wife (same phone) test when she upgraded Sunday, 3/27. It appears to be an issue with 2.2.1 EC05 that hasn't been addressed and is pissing me right the hell off.
