SPH-D710BST 4g locking up phone

I have a few questions, if someone would like to answer

About two days ago, I rooted my Galaxy s II,, using the root method,, I used odin to flash SXTP kernel from XDA's page,, I have JB GC01,, and found the link for the GC01 bst kernel SXTP_Agat_GC01-v0.5.0.zip ,,, the next day i installed an older version of wifi tether I had which didn't work,, I know it needs some configuration,, or I did find the thread that has a preconfigured wifi tether.

when I got connected to 4g my phone locked up ,, and it reboots automatically,, then as soon as it is connected to 4g it locks up again, I turned airplane mode on , and the phone does not lock up,, anyone seen this where the phone locks up when connected to 3g/4g,,, do you think its an app or the kernel? I did a factory reset, and the auto backup / restore from gmail was on so my apps came back down,, but it kept happining,, im going to restore a nand backup i made with no apps after I factory reset and see if it still happens,,

also,, I was in recovery ,, I tried partition sd card,,, this was after the 4g issue, and hit partition sd card with 1gb,, and 128mb swap, made the mistake of hitting ok,, i dont see any extra app memory in titanium for the ext partition,, but im not quite sure if the partitioning worked,,,i think it did say partitioning ok or done after i did that,, if I restore the nand backup from before i hit partition sd card,, that should remove any changes made if any,,, I thought i had hit partition internal sd card, but when i go into recovery now all i see is partition sd card,, i thought before i had selected partition internal sd card,, but i may have been mistaken,, right now when try to select that option,, the log shows unable to partition exsdcard,, so both the internal and external are formatted,, no empty space,, where would I check to see if the partitioning actually occurred,, i would think it wouldnt work being both cards are formatted already I have a nand from before i selected it, and the phone works fine, and i didnt see any extra app space, or anything in es file viewer
If it did add a partition restoring the Nand backup from before,, should change all that back right?

Yes, do a nand restore and see if you still have the 4g issue.

Why would you want to partition your sd card (internal or external) in the first place? I can see doing that for a phone like the Prevail because it has so little internal memory. The GS2 doesn't have that problem though, and has plenty of storage space (2gig internal, about 12gig usb, plus whatever SD card you may have put in it) You wouldn't see the extra space in ES file explorer if the partition was not mounted or supported. I haven't checked to see if the kernel even supports a swap partition, but that wouldn't really help the phone anyways.

I really didn't want to partition the sd card,, I was getting familiar with the new recovery,, I had CWM on my marquee,, so I was thinking about adding a swap partition,, but your right,, it wouldn't benefit me,, I've never filled up 2gb of internal space, I assumed, it would ask to confirm after i selected the swap size,, but I was wrong lesson learned,,, I don't think it even worked,, there wasn't any available space for the partition I think it said partitioning ok,, but i didn't see any changes in available space, and the internal sd card space stayed the same,, if it did work it would add a 1gb ext partition to the internal sd,, and a 128 mb swap,, i would have seen the change in available space im assuming the internal sd card partition is fat32

Im trying to get my feet wet and get a better understanding of the filesystem etc.,, so thanks for the input,,

update,, I restored a nand backup from before i hit the partition internal sd card,,,, and started loading apps so i'll update here in a bit to see if it will stop locking up when connected to 4g

Check your 3g and 4g before adding back any apps. If it is still locking I would clear caches and possibly do a SCRTN reset (makes the phone do the activation process and set up it's data connections again).
