Spice Mi300 2.1 Eclair update changes max CPU frequency

I have a Spice Mi300 android phone which came with a 600MHz processor running on stock version of Android 1.6 Donut.

Yesterday a 2.1 Eclair update was released, and I got it installed as specified in the manufacturer's site. But since then the system felt a little sluggish at times. Then later I realized that the maximum CPU frequency has changed to only 480MHz (as shown on Android System Info).

Till now I couldn't get any response back from the manufacturer.

Could anyone suggest for any possible fix to make full use of my processor?
