sporatic album art transfer from os x.8.5 to volt 4.4.2

having pulled down the album art for some library cd rips to my macbook pro, i wanted to get it onto my volt 4.4.2 running virgin's stock "music" app

running os x.8.5 -- which, in turn, is running 'android file transfer' v1.0 -- i customarily drag 'n' drop the album's file folder from a finder window onto the android file transfer window...no problem

album art shows on the volt's music app for some albums but not for others. (i tried restarting the phone and even deleted one of the albums on the volt before re-transferring: didn't help matters)

clues, anyone?

Are all the images in the same format?

Why not try a different app? Rocket player is good.

all images, same format as far as i know unless itunes' "get album art" changed what it delivers since my previous, successful downloads

rocket player *is* good. sorry that i failed to mention that i'd already tried that, with the same results
