Sporting Events in Calendar

Hi,

In the homescreen thread I've seen quite a few people with, for example, the world cup matches in their calendars or F1 races.

Have people manully input these or is there a way to download them straight into the calendar? I'm thinking my team's games for the season, F1 races, the Ashes etc etc

TIA

Google calendar has various different ones you can add. I think by default it has the public holidays one on your calendar. All the football league ones are on there...don't know about other sports.

Also good to know - cheers!

Once you've searched for your choice, just select the option to add to your google calendar and sync that with the phone calendar. Was very impressed it had Celtic's league games for the year already!

How do you do this?

I've been in Google Calendar, found my team's calendar, and added it. In Google Calendar, they all appear there with little soccer balls next to them.

I go to More > Calendars and there are four there, My Calendar, my gmail adress, UK Holidays, and PC Sync, in those colours.

I don't quite get those as I haven't set anything up that I recall other than the Google Calendars, but I don't care.

I then go Menu > Add calendars and it shows a small box with a disabled OK button, and nothing else. It looks like there should be a list of them in between that and the heading, but there is none. I have done plenty of refreshes from the phone, and even checked that a new test event comes through.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Sam.

I was having the same problem as well until I synced the account

Go to Settings>Accounts and sync> select your google account and then select sync now - see if that works

I did the same thing and had the same problem. The calendar for my team on the link posted above works perfectly though, so maybe you can find your team in that?

I have the Celtic fixtures in my phone from about three different sources just to be on the safe side :D

Any idea how to get the wales football fixtures for the euro qualifiers on gmail calender(and united and swansea's games) if that's not pushing it. lol

In calendar click menu
More
Calendars
Menu
Add calendars
then tick on your new football calendar you created on-line
and bingo it will now appear :-)

I had same problem and it was cos the calander was in the wrong format.think it had to be in xml but can't swear to it.

I had to add all of Luton Town's fixtures manually. The joys of being non-league!

I don't suppose anybody knows of a way to get all of the England fixtures up on their Google Calendar? I go to all the England matches as well, you see?

That sounds about right, I've had a number of calenders that won't sync and others that will, and the only common thread was that the ones that wouldn't sync were HTML only, whereas the ones that would (UK/US Holidays and the like) were the ones that had XML and ICAL formats too.

www.markthisdate.com also has the F1 dates, and lots of sports teams too. The Tottenham Hotspur ones don't seem to work (the calender imports into Google Calender, but no fixtures show), which sucks for me, but I've tried some other teams as a test and they were all fine.
