The new spotify (called "spotify music" in the app store, the old was is still there and is just "spotify") is a little less responsive on my 1.5ghz dual core lg motion.
The old (apparently insecure) version of spotify will not work when updated to 1.0. I think they had their hashed password database cracked and are using this as an excuse to force the 1.1 version on everyone. The good news is that 0.7.3 and 0.5.4 are working. Here they are on my drop box:
