speaking of contradictions:

not so confident with your Moment?

11-23-2009, 11:20 AM
I love my moment but i wouldn't make that statement.. it isn't the fastest phone on the market.. even though the speed at 800 mhz is faster then the droids 600 mhz the ARM11 chip isn't as good as the Cortex A8... So eventhough the speed looks faster on the moment, the droid runs either as good or a tad bit better then the moment.. even with 200mhz slower processor...

far above the droid? lol

almost went back to your curve? this is great stuff

Nope.. the moment is the step child of sprint's that they leave under teh stairs all the time.. hardware wise (except for screen resolution and a notification light) it is far above the droid... But sprint knows about the glitches and probably has some better stuff coming down the road so i guess they dont want to waste time with the moment.. Makes me feel great inside (thinking about returning before my 30 days and going back to my curve)

Lol @ acp , numus is one of them people that aren't comfortable with themselves so they bash on others

Now how exactly do you know this? Its amazing how people make snap judgements about people based on afew forum posts. Ridiculous really. Now hero vs moment. After the cl14 mr the moment really flies. Side by side against the hero the moment is clearly faster. Especially when you have several apps open. The AMOLED screen is amaxing, colors vibrant and alive and easy on the eyes. And numus is 100% correct about the hardware stuff. After the 2.1 release I feel the moment will really have full wingspan and show us what it can do.

And something numus left out or I didn't see:
Another reason the moment has the edge is the moment has a different modem chip, so the main cpu isn't wasted on that as well.

how do i know this? i know this because when someone said get the hero its a real android phone he started bitching and moaning, my moments so much better blah blah blah i want attention hero sucks moement rules moments better because i have it hes trying to jusitfy his purchase of the moment because not alot of people like it and alot of people like the hero he just wants people to see that the moments a better phone when in reality whats so great about it a better processor that doesnt seem to do squat a hardwear keyboard so awkwardly layed out that no1 wants to use it a screen that looks no better than the heros and i know i looked at both for awhile in the store the moments a big brick i mean if u like it more power to ya

I don't see that much speed difference, but I do not have the MR on the Moment....so, if the MR sped the Moment up as much as you guys say, my review is now worthless until I compare the Hero (post MR) vs. the Moment (post MR)

@eaglesfan9106 Sorry but ignorance is one of my pet peeves.. and since you obiously have no clue what you are talking about, i think that about sums everything up nicely...

Oh btw.. The screen on the moment doesn't look better then the hero.. Damn... glad the 16k color tft screen vs the 6m color amoled is just as good.. Oh btw.. what hardware experience do you have to even make a statement that it isn't different..
Also glad to see you find qwerty ackwardly layed out...

Ignorance breeds ignorance i guess...

so wheres ur statement proving me wrong ooo u found a typo +1 for you, if the moments so great whys jen8112 goin back to a blackberry lol A BLACKBERRY over the moment, the moment blows get over it nobody wants it everbody complains about it as soon as i go into the sprint store to just check out phones the rep points me towards the hero praising it and why? cause they know the moment sucks too

look i didnt mean for this to turn into a moment vs hero thing im just sick of people bashing the hero when it is a very capable device

i think maybe moment fans are tired of you doing the same thing...
Naa it is because they have nothing better then senseui to brag about... and with 2.1 stock ui, sense isnt going to really offer much more... you can pretty much replicate everything in sense ui via 3rd party apps on vanilla android.. plus some of us like vanilla android much better because it is easier to develop for (can build off stock os files instead of having to rely on htc system dump files)...

But we all know i cant compete with "because the rep says it is better" argument.. because we all know reps actually know what the hell they are taking about...

Not to mention popularity doesnt necessarily make it a better device. Ipod vs Zune? iPhone vs any phone that can make phone calls anyone?

....for the tenth time, I don't see all the amazing speed differences when I use both phones, I still like the Moment, I just prefer the smaller Hero and a few other things I'm not going to repeat (again). Once I get the MR on the Moment I'll compare both phones again, but as of right now there is no local repair center that will do the update, so IMO the Moment is still not the much faster phone because as an owner who doesn't want to do the programming I'm stuck with the current version of the Moment and I'm sure there a lot of other Moment owners in the same boat.

Funny.. you "think" that while confirming you really have no idea what you are talking about since your experience is pretty much null and yet you still continue to say the same stuff over and over again that has been disproven and claim I AM beating a dead horse.. Hypocritical much?

numus you fail at logic if you think cell phone reviews can only be done after phones get a MR.

updates make phones better, if you are not comparing the current version then what is the point in comparing..

I agree!!!

but, the current version of the Samsung Moment was not available to me when I originally reviewed the Hero vs the Samsung Moment and the update is not easily accessible now either because the only Repair Center within 25 miles of me can not do the update.

so, if I'm a person looking to buy the Hero or Moment (which is exactly the point of any review I provided), I'm going to be looking for feedback based on the current ability/operating system/hardware/software of each phone, I'm not going to pay $200 for a phone that MIGHT be improved with updates, especially when said updates take 3-6 months. By that time I could have already been enjoying the other phone and be half way to my discounted upgrade.

I have never ever said that the Moment is a bad phone, I'm not bashing the Moment like numus bashes the Hero. I think both phones are great. The only reason I ever bothered to interject was because numus is constantly bashing the Hero and spouting off spec comparisons, because on paper the Moment sounds like it is much faster/better than the Hero when in reality I haven't been able to see any radical speed differences. I would have never purchased a Hero if it was as horrible as numus makes it sound.

+1 i was trying to say that but i ended up bashing the moment because i cant get in a argument without talking ttrash lol

Actually your dead wrong again.. Moments that were shipped out to stores after the MR release (which would be the current stock of most of the stores) currently have MR1 already installed on them...
You haven't seen any radical difference because it is android 1.5... it is old, just like the Qualcomm MSM... Like my original statement, you take a P4 Hyperthreaded processor and a Core 2 Duo processor (hyper thread pretty much mimics the function of a secondary core) and stick them on windows 98 or 2000 and you wont see much of a difference... But stick them on vista or windows 7 (the first real operating systems to natively support multiple threads and cores.. kinda like how 1.6 was the first android os to natively support cdma) and you will see a huge difference... But since this is all that techincal specs mumbo jumbo i bet you probably have no idea and will contineu to go.. Well.. i couldn't figure out how to flash the phone but out of the box the 5 month older platform phone was just as fast!!!

thank you, you actually just proved my point. by the time you (or I) get 2.1 on the Moment there will probably be a more powerful Android phone on Sprint or at lease coming to Sprint in the very near future.

....and like I've said before your argument that 2.1 on Moment will make it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then the Hero is just simply speculation right now, so it's a moot point.
