RELEASE NOTES
The installer in this release includes the ability to install many of the Samsung/TouchWiz apps that were removed in the 1.x series giving you the ability to customize your experience to your liking.
Please be aware that the Samsung/TouchWiz apps are installed as system apps and cannot be removed without a root uninstaller (ES File Explorer, Titanium Backup, etc.).
The installer will also allow you to choose not to install many of the Google/AOSP apps that were pre-installed in the 1.x series.
To access these options, choose "customize" during installation. Choosing "Default" will install the same app set that comes standard in the 1.x series.

Man, all by yourself on this thread?

I might have to play with it and see.

Wow. I take it you're not on the Triumph anymore? Truth be told, the bulk of the discussion for this ROM takes place in the Virgin Mobile S3 forum and over at XDA.

RELEASE NOTES

The main issue that is fixed by this release is the ability to use apps other than the TouchWiz Gallery to select a contact photo from within the People app. The app was hardcoded by Samsung to use only the TouchWiz Gallery app to choose photos. This limitation has been removed and you will now be presented with a list of apps to choose a photo. The Google+ Photos app does not work for contact photo selection from within the People app. I believe it has to do with the way the Photos app returns the file URI. I also tested this function using ES File Explorer to choose the photo and this worked without issue. If you really need/want to set a contact photo using the Photos app, you can still accomplish this by going into the Photos app, opening your desired photo, choosing "Set as..." and then "Contact photo." I have tested this function and it works just fine.

As to the battery percentage, it can be turned on and off via the same setting that would switch the battery percentage text on and off in the Settings app. Due to the way this feature is coded, you will have to reboot your phone for changes to take effect. If you have previously used an app or other method to enable the native KitKat battery percentage, you will want to disable it before applying this update as the setting that previously controlled it now controls the TouchWiz battery percentage text readout.

Yeah, no. I left the Triumph a few years ago. I've been playing with used phones because the carrier I use makes it easy.

What carrier are you on now? If not Sprint, maybe I can add 'official' support for your carrier. All I really need are the APNs.

-------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: Sometimes the Wi-Fi SSID disappears from the quick settings tile even when connected. I haven't been able to quite figure out why. Either way, a quick on-off toggle fixes it every time as far as I can tell.

The right-side pulldown zone size has been significantly reduced. It currently sits at about 30% of the right-hand side of the notification bar in portrait orientation and about 40% in landscape.

If you are in the quick settings panel and receive a notification, the system will switch over to notifications automatically. I made this intentional because for whatever reason after I implemented the new Notifications-to-Quick Settings/Quick Settings-to-Notifications animation, notifications wouldn't show up after switching back to Notifications. This fixes it. Sorry if it's inconvenient but at least it's usable.

There may be other changes that are included in this release. I suffered a hard drive crash (again for those of you who remember my work on Conquest for the Victory) and, while I was able to recover most of my work, I lost my changelog. I think I got everything but I can't remember for sure.

EDIT: Bug in this release. Somewhere along the way, I screwed up the clear notifications button. Can't believe I didn't catch this before release. Ah well... 5.1 coming in about an hour or so.

EDIT 2:

RELEASE NOTES: Updater script is fixed in this one. I think the reason that it wasn't working for 5.1 for some people was that I omitted the fixprop script for updating the build.prop but was still trying to call it from the updater script. Either way, it should be working fine now.

This is a cumulative update, so it includes the updates from 5.1; you must be on 5.0 or 5.1 before applying this update.

---------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: Please take care to read the FAQs again before installing this release as there have been some new ones added regarding features specific to this release, especially the Google Dialer. In a nutshell, the Google Dialer is not compatible with the stock TouchWiz phone app (in-call app) as it cannot access the call logs generated by it. The AOSP phone app, however, is not compatible with TouchWiz messaging and does not contain the roaming settings menu present in the TouchWiz phone app. Also, special dialer codes do not work with the Google Dialer.

Special thanks go out to bob-st, Madbat, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for testing this release for me and helping make sure it's as rock solid as possible. As with any release, there may be bugs present that we didn't see so please post here if you encounter any problems.

CHANGELOG

07/28/2014: 6.1
  • SYSTEM: Re-enabled lockscreen style selector in settings
  • SYSTEM: Enabled particle lockscreen style
  • SYSTEM: Enabled watercolor lockscreen style
  • SYSTEM: Tweaked battery/power save quick settings tile layout/behavior
  • SYSTEM: Tweaked Wi-Fi quick settings tile layout/behaviour
  • SYSTEM: Re-enabled lockscreen shortcuts for non-AOSP lockscreen styles
  • SYSTEM: Changed quick settings tile icons to match AOSP/CyanogenMod icons
  • SYSTEM: Enabled screen off+volume up flashlight in settings
  • SYSTEM: Replaced Wi-Fi Hotspot notification icon with icon from CyanogenMod
--------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: OK so a few of these probably need some clarification so I'll start with the lock screen shortcuts. Lockscreen shortcuts only work with the non-AOSP lockscreen styles. If you have a live wallpaper enabled on any style other than AOSP, the lock screen will revert to the un-styled circle lock screen.

Next up we have the quick settings tiles. The tile will no longer show "power save on/power save off" under the percentage. If power saving is enabled, "power save" will now be displayed under the percentage, and hidden completely when power saving is disabled. I feel that this gives the power save/battery tile a cleaner overall look. The battery levels for the icon have also been adjusted to match AOSP.

The Wi-Fi quick settings tile will no longer show "Wi-Fi ON/Wi-Fi OFF" under the SSID. When Wi-Fi is off, the tile will be labeled "WI-FI," and the icon will be in outline. When Wi-Fi is on but not connected to a network, it will be labeled "NOT CONNECTED," and the icon will be a dark, full Wi-Fi icon. When connected to a network, the SSID will be displayed below a light, full Wi-Fi icon.

The flashlight option has been enabled in settings on the main page under the "DEVICE" heading. This functionality has only been tested the KT747 kernel included with Conquest. It may or may not work with other kernels depending on how they layout the device filesystem for the camera flash.

The rest is just cosmetic tweaks and adjustments. As always, if you run into any bugs, please post them here.
