Root [Sprint/Cricket] A really stupid question

Hey guys. I'm using MIUI right now. In all the versions I have used for all the phones I've had, MIUI either didn't have 4g, or I didn't stay on I the ROM long enough to find out. So here is my stupid question: how can I tell if I am on 4g? Will the 3g icon change? I feel so dumb for asking but I want to know. Thanks.

If you know you live in a 4G area and you've been connected to it before, it might work. Currently I'm not sure any MIUI roms support lte (i could be wrong though :p) but in theory yes, the icon would change. Also, if you read through the OP of the developer, they usually mention if LTE/4G is broken or if it works
 
They said LTE is being worked on. The devs, that is. But I also know about 4g using Wimax. I'm wondering if Sprint phased out Wimax yet? That's why I wondered if 4g was possible without LTE! Plus the 3g speeds around here are pretty slow, and my speeds on MIUI are pretty fast. So I got curious.
 
MIUI ROMS usually dont support 4G because its a chinese based ROM and has traditionally been closed source.

Oh I know that. That's why, when the devs working on this rom said they were working on LTE, I got curious. I normally know when 4g is enabled. But in MIUI I didn't know how they went about this sort of thing.

Have you checked out this Sprint Coverage Site? For me it'll probably be decades before I get it. I'm sorta po'd that Sprint didn't think it was necessary to explain that I'd be losing 4g (WiMax) and be sitting on 3g until they rolled out LTE in my area.

Okay! Then I am on 3G until the devs working on the MIUI rom get LTE working. IF they get it working.

Yeah man! I was disappointed to see you go there for a bit but am glad you're back. Your knowledge on here is greatly appreciated by a lot of us users including me! Keep doing what you're doing :-)
