Root [Sprint/Cricket] counter for roms flashed

Can someone tell me how to find the counter on how many Rom flashes have been done on phone....Also could you tell me how to flash roms or kernels without tripping counter. Thanks

The counter is displayed in Download mode (vol down + home + power). But I think it only shows you how many times you flashed custom ROMs via download mode and not recovery.

So if I'm understanding you...as long as you flash roms or kernels through c.w.m your ok and will not effect the counter. Thanks

need help dont wanna start a new thread i made a back up before i installed a rom when i restored my back its just been sitting on samsung logo screen

inot a noob but i did everything right i made a back up before installing when its restoring i get a error message when i boot it up it just goes start Samsung logo

i been there before. Go back into CWM
1. wipe data-factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. advanced
4. wipe dalvik cache
5. go back to main screen
6. restore your backup.
7. should work like a charm

Hope it helps. For future reference before flashing or restoring backups always make sure there is a backup after you back it up. THEN ALWAYS WIPE BEFORE FLASHING OR RECOVERING IN THE ORDER I JUST EXPLAINED. IF I HELPED HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!

You may have to install the factory tar from whichever carrier youre on. you may have a bad backup. IF you didnt wipe before recovering your backup you have essentially flashed your backup over the rom you were switching from.

every time it gets to restoring system an error happens why does that happen and if i could hit a thank button i would but one is not there

My only idea is restoring the factory tar image from your carrier and just reroot. Did you possibly move your backup from internal to external. I know sometimes that messes up the md5 sum. I learned that too. if you go back stock and reroot make sure the first thing you do is backup the factory rooted rom.

yea it backed up to my sd card but how could it do that without me choosing it is there away to move or im pretty much stuck and have to use stock tar

if you just choose backup in CWM it will automatically save to external sd. did you try my method of wiping and then try to flash stock backup?

yea i did im so mad i really dont care to start over its just i got so far in the final fantasy lol i dont even wanna start over

ok on blaze rom and i did a advance restore and restored data and i got all my stuff back will this hurt my phone since im on this rom cause if not imma keep it lol

sorry im asking so much u know whats funny my back up is working now after removing one of the back ups but what im trying to find out is which rom can i use and still get my sprint updates and all that good stuff if not myback up worked and im not touching nothing but i want my ota updates

as far as samsung updates you will have to wait until the flashable zip is released and flash in CWM. With CWM recovery you will never be able to accept OTA updates. The updates usually come out pretty fast so its not really a big issue. Glad you got it back running. If you need any more help feel free to pm me anytime.

I was having this problem for awhile and it turned out that I was violating the naming rules for the nandroids. IIRC, you cannot have any spaces or special characters that can't be used in a command prompt.

This may not be your problem at all, just throwing it out there. :)
