Root [Sprint/Cricket] Help a NOOB?

Just rooted my S3 and not sure where to go from here. My goal is to get rid of the bloatware and "simplify" my phone. Please remember im kinda old and this rooting stuff is pretty foriegn to me. I guess im asking what is the best ROM for someone like myself? Thanks in advance!

I'm not a spring chicken either :( . I chose "The People's ROM, for a few reasons. You have the option of increasing the volume across the board either 50% or 100%. After 21 years on and off aircraft carriers, I'm pretty much deaf, so the 50% increase has been great. As far as bloatware, it still has it, but that's like only two apps from Sprint. Compared to the HTC Evo I came from, that's nothing. Also, as far as flashing this ROM, if you are coming from stock Rom, you only have to clear cache and davik cache, so there isn't any re-installing of apps afterwords. I strongly suggest that you read the first post thoroughly as well as the rest of that thread. Also, just to make sure, you do have to have SPRINT as your carrier for this rom. It's extremely important that you only flash a rom for your specific carrier or you may end up with an expensive doorstop.

Also Titanium Backup and Restore can Freeze and/or uninstall the bloat and backup your Apps and Data. Now I disagree with Ramer84015. With any rom change even OTA updates, you should Wipe, Wipe and Wipe to make sure there are not leftovers from the previous rom to cause trouble.

Actually, while I would normally agree, the developer of this rom states that as long as you are coming from stock touch wiz rom, you don't have to do a factory wipe. I didn't, and I haven't had a single problem.

Edit: I left of the most important part. Make sure you have a custom recovery installed. I prefer TWRP, but you can choose between TWRP and CWM. Make sure you do a nanoid backup first, that way, if you don't like the rom, you can always restore your backup and be right back to where you were.

I flashed the blazer ROM and it seems to be working well with one silly problem. I called a friend and it displayed my Google voice number on his phone instead of my sprint number. Any ideas?

That's an option on the Google voice website, go into the settings there to turn it off
