Root [Sprint/Cricket] How to make your samsung galaxy s3 look like the htc evo 3d

Hello all,

As I posted in the introductory area, I am a newbie here. I hope I am posting my question in the right area. If not please forgive :)

I was wondering, I do love my Samsung Galaxy sIII very much. Prior to the Galaxy, I had an HTC Evo 3D. I loved the way the evo 3d looked and the behavior of the phone. So I guess my question is how would I make my Galaxy look and feel like the htc evo 3d?

I am familiar with rooting although I have never fully rooted a phone entirely. I did temp root my htc evo 3d when I had it. I also am a bit confused about flashing roms. Read a bit about it but I would assume flashing a rom would be like installing another operating system on your computer. I'm sure i'll learn more about it hanging around this forum.

Anyway, any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums we are glad you're here :)

I don't know how to make your phone look or feel like the htc evo 3d with out doing Root and ROM'ing the device. I encourage you to check out the root section of you phone. Samsung Galaxy S3 - Android Forums is the main forum with the sub forums All things root for your carrier. Just go to the one for your carrier and ask around. I'm sure the people will be more than willing to help you get the best from your phone.
 
Hello and welcome to Android Forums, LadyDroid.

The answer to your question may be in the world of 3rd party launchers, available in Play Store. Some of them are extremely configurable as to look and functionality of the screens and device; they've grown in those respects considerably over the past couple of years.

I'd have a look at GoEX and Next Launcher 3D.. but as I say, there are many to choose from. I don't think you have to root your device to bring it around to the screen appearance you desire. But, I do understand how many users just want full control of things "behind the scenes," which rooting at least partially allows, plus as you mention, ROMs are out there that expand the appeal of the device in addition to the fact that the developers have done nearly all of the work for you as to customization. ;)

Thanks for the wonderful advice! Argedion, I will most certainly checkout the forum here for my phone. Don B, thanks for moving my post...i'm still trying to find where everything is here :) Frisco, I hope your tomato juice was delicious lol! I like V8 with a splash of hot sauce. I will let you guys know what I come up with as for my devices behaving like the evo 3d. Thanks again!
