To overclock or underclock you have to have a custom kernel that can support that function. Be careful though, underclocking too low and overclocking too high can cause adverse effects. Do NOT check "set on boot" until you know it's at a safe level or you'll be stuck in a boot loop and will have to restore from a nandroid back up (or start over if you don't have a backup).

Check the All Things Root sticky under kernels. I gave the OP a few that I found. Read carefully about which kernel you're about to install. If you install the wrong one (AOSP kernel on a TW rom and vice versa) the phone won't boot and possibly (but not likely since they are all for our phone) a brick could occur.

The original post will tell you if it's for TouchWiz or CM/AOSP/AOKP ROMs. If it doesn't specify, don't flash it because the OP needs to indicate which ROM it's for. And no problem man. Just putting back what all I've learned here :D

If it's AOSP then you can flash it to CM and AOKP. Just read the last 2 or 3 pages of posts as well because people will report bugs they've experienced (no audio, no data, boot loops, no booting, and other stuff like that).
