If I root just root then accept the future OTA jelly bean update nothing happens to my phone? Ill just have to re-root?

WHat about my phone files contacts and whatnot?

If you are going to root, you never accept an ota.

If you want any features from an ota, you just flash the rooted rom that's based off of the new base.

From what I've been reading a lot of people have recommended using Voodoo OTA RootKeeper from the Play Store. I haven't read anywhere that there was any problems going from the LG2 to the LG8 update.
Not sure how it's going to work going from GB to JB though.

I haven't tried it yet because my phone updated the newest (LG8) OTA as soon as I activated it.

If you root the Sprint SGS3, you won't have to worry about OTAs, because they won't install. You'll download the OTA, it'll reboot into recovery...and then fail because it's not designed to work with custom recoveries. You have to install a custom recovery in order to root the GS3 (unless a new method is developed). So OTAs are not possible.

But the OTA will be converted into a flashable update to work with custom recoveries, but it may take a day or two.

AFAIK, there is no filesystem exploit to install just root. You have to install CWM and flash a SU patch or a rooted ROM.

I was told use Odin to root and thats it if you dont wanna do custom rom and stay in stock

make a nand, and flash some new roms and see what you like/dislike. thats the thing about roms, its all about the end user experience. i could tell you that CM10 is the shit, and your experience would be defined as actual shit for whatever reason (i dont think ive ever come across anyone who actually hates it tho) ill stop rambling as i dont know if this is all gibberish to you. What are you trying to get out of updating to jellybean? I just like the idea of being on the latest and greatest software. If thats your reason too, i cant blame ya, but i can tell you from experience, that its 90% of the time not necessary.

to be honest i dont know what kind of method just the one one of xda developer found....the lastest one...

Ill want to be rooted it and able to get ANY ota updates...so i dont have to reroot unroot and reroot too much work... i want to run stock...

Just by my experience in past rooted devices, it is best and apparently, according to jerofld, it's impossible to update OTA updates when rooted and running a custom recovery which, as I have heard, is the only way to root your Samsung Galaxy SIII.

The way that you will have to update is when "modded" versions of the Jelly Bean update are created. These will be ROMs and they will run 4.1 Android OSes. That is the only true way that you will be able to update while keeping your root status. Usually it takes a few days to a few weeks before modded ROMs become available for users like you and I to use. Wait until after Jelly Bean is released for our phones then watch these forums closely for new ROMs and see if they are updated with 4.1 or if they run 4.0 still.

You can also unroot and just accept the OTA update and root after a new root method becomes available which could take as little as immediately after the update to months after the update officially hits our phones. (OG Evo users remember this after we got our update to Gingerbread Android 2.3 and it took months before a new root method became available.) My advice is to just wait for developers to release ROMs running 4.1 instead of unrooting or trying to update while rooted. If you are successful at updating through OTA while rooted, you run the risk of bricking your phone too.
